Lauren Eden

MS, CNS, LDN | Functional Nutritionist

My work as a functional nutritionist is driven by a deep-seated belief in the body's innate intelligence and its remarkable capacity for healing.

I am passionate about empowering individuals to achieve vibrant health by understanding and addressing the unique, underlying factors that influence their well-being.

My Journey to Functional Nutrition

My path to becoming a functional nutritionist was paved by a fascination with the intricate connections within the human body and the profound impact of nutrition on overall health. Witnessing firsthand the transformative power of targeted, science-backed nutritional interventions, especially for those navigating complex health issues, ignited my dedication to this field.

This led me to pursue advanced studies, culminating in a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. Becoming a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) has further equipped me with the expertise to translate complex nutritional science into practical, effective, and life-changing strategies for my clients. I am also honored to have been recognized as "Best of Bethesda" for my work.

My Functional Nutrition Philosophy

I believe that you are more than a collection of symptoms; you are a whole person deserving of a comprehensive, highly individualized, and compassionate approach to care. My practice is firmly rooted in an evidence-based, functional medicine framework. This means we work together to look beyond surface-level concerns, aiming to uncover and address the root causes of your health challenges.

Targeted Supplementation

When appropriate, I recommend practitioner-grade supplements (accessible via Fullscript, including trusted brands like Klare Labs and Equazen) to support your body's healing processes and address specific nutrient needs.

Personalized Strategies

There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Your nutrition and wellness plan will be meticulously tailored to your unique biochemistry, health history, lifestyle, and personal goals.

Whole-Body Perspective

True health involves the harmonious function of all body systems. We'll explore the interconnectedness of diet with factors like sleep, stress management, digestive health, and movement.

Evidence-Based Interventions

My recommendations are grounded in the latest scientific research, ensuring you receive the most effective and up-to-date nutritional therapies.

Root Cause Resolution

We move beyond simply managing symptoms to identify and address the underlying imbalances that may be contributing to your health concerns. This often involves advanced functional testing (e.g., gut microbiome analysis, food sensitivity panels, hormonal testing).

Collaborative Care

I believe in an integrated approach and often work in coordination with your existing medical team, including doctors and chiropractors, to ensure comprehensive and cohesive care.

Empowerment & Education

My goal is to empower you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to make informed decisions about your health and foster a positive, sustainable relationship with food.

Compassionate Support

I strive to create a non-judgmental, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and motivated to build intentional, positive changes.

Areas of Focus

I am deeply committed to guiding individuals through their unique health journeys, particularly those navigating the complexities of:

◉ Autoimmune Conditions

◉ Hormonal Dysregulation (including impacts on mood and energy)

◉ Chronic Pain and Inflammation

◉ Metabolic Imbalances

◉ Gut and Digestive Health (e.g., IBS, SIBO, microbiome restoration)

◉ Persistent Fatigue and Low Energy

◉ Cardiovascular Health

◉ Optimizing Health for Longevity

◉ Developing Sustainable Healthy Eating Habits

◉ Supporting Mental Wellness through Nutrition

Beyond the Clinic

When I'm not immersed in the world of nutrition, I find joy and rejuvenation in spending time with my dogs, exploring nature through hiking, and experimenting with new, healthy recipes in my own kitchen.
